since ike took a slight tour through this area over the weekend, i have been without power at home since about 2 sunday afternoon. after the storm over 90% of duke energy's customers ( about 1 million) were without power. power was still out at my house when i left this morning. duke does not expect to get all customers back online before the weekend. i have no idea when it's coming back on at my place, i'm hoping by the time i get home. it's still hard to find gas, a lot of gas stations that were able to open have run out. ice is in short supply, but a lot of the food stores are open and are restocking. in comparison, this is just a minor inconvienience compared to galveston and houston. my thoughts go out to people down there. |
